Spouse Visa

To apply as a spouse you must be married and both you and your partner must be over the age of 18 years old. 

Your spouse must also be either: 

1. A British citizen or

2. Have settled in the UK (they have indefinite leave to remain)

The requirements of this application are: 

1. You are in a ‘genuine and subsisting’ relationship with a British citizen or a person “settled” in the UK;

2. You are married to them;

3. You have physically met your spouse at least once;

4. You can prove the relationship by way of marriage certificate, photos of the wedding, messages between the couple, photographs, remittance etc;

5. You meet the financial requirement (your spouse earns at least £18,600 and an additional £2,400 for any additional child);

6. You can show your spouse has adequate accommodation and

7. You meet the English language requirements. 

The Spouse Visa application requires many supporting documents as way of proof of the relationship. Our solicitors will look at your case and consider all your circumstances and in accordance with such will provide you with a list of supporting documents you will need to attach to your application form.
